Reflect lesson plan; What is acid rain ?

                   Teacher started with the video about acid rain for asking students what we are going to learn. It make students thinking by themselves.
Teacher reviews the vocabulary by lets students to play game for made students have fun and learn in the same time.
                  Students can find their partner and show the picture card in front of class. Then, teacher taught the vocabulary by show the meaning in Thai and give students repeat after the sound. That is all of vocabulary about acid rain. In addition, teacher divides students in group to rearrange the sentences and use them to explain the cycle of acid rain. There was structure of lesson; teacher used ‘will’ by subject+will+v1 for class today.
                  Teacher had many activities to improve students and the video that is given to students very interesting. Playing a game can help students remember and fun more than teacher give only contents.

Unit:1 What is acid rain ?
Lesson No.2 Environment Recovery
Unit Aim: Students explains the causes of Acid rains.
Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. identify the causes of acid rains
2. give suggestions or their own idea to stop acid rains
Standard F.1.3  Ability to present data, information, cocepts and views about various matters through speaking and writing.
Level: Students in English Program Grade 9 (Intermediate)
Instructor: Mr. Pichaya  Khunchumnaan
Evaluation:
1.   Students understand and they can explain the cause of acid rain.
2.   Students can tell the ways to prevent acid rain.
3.   Students can tell the vocabulary definition in English and tell the meaning in Thai from this lesson.
4.   Students can use grammar (Future Simple Tense) to speak correctly.

Pre-task
1. T greets ss.
- Good afternoon. How are you today?
- What’s the weather like today?
Now the weather is unpredictable.
 Do you agree with me? When I was child the mangosteens were very big but today they are very small.
I think I know the reason. Let’s watch the clip.
2. T plays the video clip.
- Now I want you to look at the video clip. Are you ready?
3. T asks questions
           T: What is this video clip about?
           T: Yes, it’s about acid rain. Acid rain is not so good for every living thing on earth.
4. T reviews the vocabulary by having students to play  games “Finding partners”  T explains rules of the games.
             T: OK I want you to play game called  “My true partner” You have to match between each picture and the correct vocabulary. After you finish to find your partner, I want each couple to come in front of the class.  The word cards and picture are under your table.
Are you ready?  Start?
5.   T pronounces each vocabulary and Ss repeat.
            T:  After finish matching I want you to tell the vocabulary in English definition.
Then I will show you to the meaning in Thai and repeat each word after me.

Task Cycle
1. T explains the decorating game.

- What are the causes of acid rain? I want to check your understanding. So now, work in two groups to decorate the chart board of acid rain pictures. I want you to divide you by left side is group one and right side is group two.
Group one is here, and group two is there. Each group has a pile of sentence tabs; you have to decorate the cycle of acid rain. Are you ready? Start!


2. T tells the students to rearrange the sentences and use them to explain their pictures.

     T: I want each group to rearrange the sentences and use them to explain the cycle of acid rain in your picture.



The gas caused from the combustion of fossil fuels and vehicle exhausts are released into the atmosphere.




The gases become sulfuric acid and nitric acid by chemical reaction.




Then, it becomes acid rain and acid fog and fall on the ground.




Acid rain causes a lot of damages





First, the acid rain weakens the plant’s root.






 

Second, the drinking water is poisonous.





Third, fish are dying out.




Finally, Human beings have not enough clean food and drinking water.
